Baseball Game Preview: St. Louis University Junior Bills vs. Creighton Prep Junior Jays

St. Louis University hasn't had much luck against Creighton Prep recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Junior Bills will challenge the Junior Jays at 1:00 p.m. The last three games St. Louis University has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

St. Louis University saw some tournament action on Thursday. Neither they nor St. Dominic could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 4-4 draw.

Meanwhile, Creighton Prep faced Lincoln East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Junior Jays fell 12-9 to the Spartans. The Junior Jays have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Easton Loucks was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Jack Cosgrove was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Charlie Ziola was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Creighton Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. With that draw, St. Louis University's record moves to 6-1-1.
