Softball Recap: Todd County Central Takes a Loss

Franklin-Simpson hit Todd County Central with a six-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rebels came up short against the Wildcats, falling 15-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-1 last Wednesday.

Todd County Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dakotah Gammon, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. Rylann Griggs also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Todd County Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Franklin-Simpson, they pushed their record up to 12-13-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Todd County Central will challenge Caldwell County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Franklin-Simpson, they will square off against Edmonson County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
