Baseball Game Preview: Mission Hills Grizzlies vs. San Pasqual Golden Eagles

Mission Hills is 8-2 against San Pasqual since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Grizzlies will host the Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. This will be Mission Hills' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

Mission Hills gave up the first runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Valhalla.

Nate Sheriff looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mission Hills got a big performance out of Micah Mecucci, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Those two runs gave Mecucci a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zeke Munoz, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Mission Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, San Pasqual had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 5-1.

San Pasqual's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mission Hills, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
