Softball Game Preview: Berkley Bears vs. Seaholm Maples

The Berkley Bears will square off against the Seaholm Maples at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Berkley has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Monday, Berkley didn't have quite enough to beat Royal Oak and fell 4-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Ravens: they've now lost three in a row.

Olivia Long was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Brooke Schall, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Meanwhile, Seaholm suffered their closest loss since May 21, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Northville by a score of 4-2. The game marked the Maples' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Seaholm and nudges their season record down to 10-5. As for Berkley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9-1.

Berkley might still be hurting after the 10-2 loss they got from Seaholm when the teams last played last Saturday. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
