Softball Recap: Notre Dame Prep Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Notre Dame Prep was feeling good fresh off their 22-7 takedown of West Bloomfield on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fighting Irish took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Adams Highlanders on Friday.

Brianna DeCaussin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven runs (all of which were unearned) on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Emersyn Rix-Renne and Abigail Stewart stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rix-Renne went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run, while Stewart went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Notre Dame Prep's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6. As for Adams, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame Prep will host Shrine Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Adams, they will welcome Seaholm/Groves at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
