Baseball Recap: Grosse Pointe North Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Grosse Pointe North can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Royal Oak Ravens as they made off with an 8-2 victory. The Norsemen not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18th (when they won 19-7).

Daniel LeFevre spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits.

On the hitting side, Caleb Butler was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zane Hemler, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Grosse Pointe North's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Royal Oak, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 17 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17-1 record this season.

Grosse Pointe North's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Seaholm at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Royal Oak, they are taking a road trip to challenge Grosse Pointe South at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Ravens' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
