Basketball Recap: Mesa Jackrabbits vs. Pinnacle Pioneers

Mesa found their leader in freshman Jakyi Miles, who shot 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds. The game was Miles' sixth in a row with at least 20 points. Thomas Moritz also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
Despite the loss, Pinnacle saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cam Hurt went 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points along with seven boards and three steals. Isaiah Smith was another key player, shooting 46% from the field on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.
Mesa is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. Pinnacle's defeat dropped their record down to 10-18.
