While Burney was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-22, 25-12.

Despite the loss, Burney got top-tier performance from Alexis Witzel, who had 42 digs and three blocks. Witzel is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 20 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Aimee Hampton was another key player, getting 19 digs and seven kills.
Meanwhile, Chester entered their matchup against Redding Christian on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Volcanoes fell 3-1 to the Lions.
While Chester had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-22, 12-25, 25-18.
Burney's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Chester, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Burney hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 5.5 blocks per game. However, it's not like Chester struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.1 blocks. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
