Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Wildcats vs. West Marion Trojans + Official Tickets

Columbia has gone 8-2 against West Marion recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Trojans at 7:30 p.m.

It was a proper cat-fight when Columbia duked it out with Mendenhall on Tuesday. The Wildcats were outmatched by the Tigers and fell 71-40. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Bryson Foxworth put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 12 points and four steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Braylon Johnson, who shot 63% from the field en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, West Marion strolled past Pearl River Central with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 55-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. West Marion has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record.

Columbia skirted past West Marion 60-58 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
