Baseball Recap: Cary Christian Starts Season with Win on the Road

Cary Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Lion a 5-0 shutout. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Lion recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jacob Reeves made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Reeves was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Reeves wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Hill, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cary Christian will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Norfolk Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill, they will welcome Durham Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
