Baseball Recap: Orangeburg Prep Triumphs

Orangeburg Prep won the last time they faced Thomas Sumter Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Indians came out on top against the Generals by a score of 8-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Hunter Judy and Bryson Williams made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Judy struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Williams tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Judy has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Judy scored a run while going 1-for-4, while Williams scored a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Tyler, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Landon Kuck was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Orangeburg Prep's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Thomas Sumter Academy, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Orangeburg Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Generals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
