Basketball Recap: Chaminade Triumphs

Chaminade lost to St. Francis back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Chaminade Eagles walked away with a 54-41 win over the St. Francis Golden Knights.

It was another big night for Jonas Thurman, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brycen Butler, who posted five points.

Chaminade's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 18-5. As for St. Francis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.

Chaminade is taking a road trip to challenge Crespi at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crespi knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Chaminade likes a good challenge. As for St. Francis, they will host Sierra Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sierra Canyon will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something St. Francis surely won't give up without a fight.
