Basketball Recap: Brownstown/St. Elmo Takes a Loss

Brownstown/St. Elmo played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 62-25 defeat at the hands of the Dieterich Movin Maroons. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-8.

Dieterich's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Westendorf, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brock Niemerg, who posted 13 points and five assists.

Brownstown/St. Elmo now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Dieterich, their victory bumped their record up to 19-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brownstown/St. Elmo will face off against Farina South Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dieterich, they will challenge North Clay/Clay City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dieterich is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season.
