Volleyball Recap: Franklin County Comes Up Short

Franklin County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Hagerstown Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

While Franklin County ultimately came up short, they really made Hagerstown work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-19, 25-21.

Halle George paced Franklin County's offense, picking up five kills. George got some help from Dusti Gabbard and her 11 assists. Gabbard also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Katie Selm, racking up two apiece.

Hagerstown was led to victory by Hallie Pruitt and Bella Thalls. Pruitt had 15 digs and two assists, while Thalls had seven digs.

Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Franklin County has already played their next game (against Rushville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hagerstown, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Morristown on the 21st.
