Softball Recap: Wheatland Pirates vs. Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos

After flying high against Grant last Thursday, Wheatland came back down to earth. The Wheatland Pirates fell 9-5 to the Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos on Monday. The loss was the Pirates' first of the season.

Raelynn Hulsey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. Jaycee Sills was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Hulsey wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Wheatland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wheatland fell to 2-1. As for Twelve Bridges, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Wheatland will square off against East Nicolaus at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Twelve Bridges, they will challenge West Park at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Twelve Bridges is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
