Topsail entered their tilt with Laney on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Buccaneers 3-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-0 win back in September.

Topsail never let Laney on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-12, 25-22.

Hannah Gates was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had four digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last nine contests.

They weren't the only good servers: Topsail was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Laney's loss came despite strong showings from Abigail (Abbey) Hendren and Skyler Ryan. Hendren had 13 assists and eight digs, while Ryan had two blocks. Hendren is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Topsail's record now sits at 17-5. As for Laney, they moved to 9-12 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Coming up, Topsail will square off against Hoggard at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Laney does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
