Volleyball Recap: Phil Campbell Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Phil Campbell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Haleyville Lions, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Phil Campbell was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21, 25-17.

Adeline Hunderman paced Phil Campbell's offense, picking up eight kills. Hunderman got some help from Aspen Misner and her 14 assists. Misner also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Avery Cummings, racking up two apiece.

Phil Campbell's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Haleyville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.

Coming up, Phil Campbell will face off against Deshler at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Haleyville, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lamar County at 1:30 p.m. on September 10.
