Basketball Game Preview: New Life Christian Academy Warriors vs. Hilltop Christian Chargers

The New Life Christian Academy Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Hilltop Christian Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Life Christian Academy hasn't scored more than 16 points for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

New Life Christian Academy is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Greenville Christian Academy last Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. New Life Christian Academy was beaten by Greenville Christian Academy 59-13. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-6.

Logan Credle was New Life Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted ten points.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Hilltop Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (64-54), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as they came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Warriors are ranked 234th).

New Life Christian Academy will need focus on slowing down Carter Snow, one of several Hilltop Christian players who made an impact when they last played. He went 8 for 12 on his way to 19 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Manriquez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.

New Life Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hilltop Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

New Life Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 69-44 defeat they got from Hilltop Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2019. Thankfully for New Life Christian Academy, Michael Goldman (who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, nine rebounds, and 11 steals) won't be suiting up this time.
