The Flat Rock Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Airport Jets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Flat Rock took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Grosse Ile with a sharp 12-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won six in a row.
Vanessa Neace made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had over her last seven matchups. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaclynn Motyka, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Avery Mack, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.
Flat Rock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Airport). Everything went their way against Jefferson on Monday as they made off with a 17-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jets.
Alayna McDaniel looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
At the plate, Brooklyn Martin was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one double. Olivia Tilley was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Airport's record now sits at 14-4. As for Flat Rock, the win got them back to even at 12-12.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Flat Rock hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355.
