Softball Recap: East Newton Comes Up Short

East Newton has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.21 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers, falling 10-2. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Mountaineers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

East Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Mt. Vernon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mt. Vernon beat East Newton by a score of 10-3 later that day.
