Volleyball Game Preview: Reed-Custer Comets vs. Peotone Blue Devils

The Reed-Custer Comets will head out to square off against the Peotone Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Reed-Custer has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since September 27.

On Tuesday, Reed-Custer came up short against Coal City and fell 2-0.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-12.

Streator typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Peotone proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Bulldogs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 26-24.

Reed-Custer's loss dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Peotone, their record is now 16-8.

Reed-Custer couldn't quite get it done against Peotone in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
