Basketball Preview: New Underwood Tigers vs. Kadoka Kougars
New Underwood is 0-10 against the Kougars since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The New Underwood Tigers will be playing at home against the Kadoka Kougars at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (New Underwood is ranked 94th, while the Kougars are ranked 109th).
New Underwood put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Crazy Horse 64-34 at home.
Meanwhile, Kadoka lost to the Eagles on the road by a decisive 67-49 margin on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kadoka in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Kadoka had strong showings from Garrett Hermann, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Gus Stout, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Hermann hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Nemecek, who scored five points along with two steals.
New Underwood has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Kadoka, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
