Football Recap: Conant Comes Up Short

Conant played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Barrington Fillies/Broncos 41-14. The Cougars have struggled against the Fillies/Broncos recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Barrington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lamar Osterhues out in front who rushed for 90 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. Luke Tepas was another key passer, throwing for 165 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes.

Conant's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Barrington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Conant will head out on the road to take on Schaumburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Saxons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Barrington, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fremd at 7:30 p.m. The Fillies/Broncos will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
