Eastside Catholic's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Ingraham with a sharp 18-0 victory. The Crusaders have beaten the Rams the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rams has come to flipping the script.
Kailee McCauley made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Eastside Catholic got a massive performance out of Queen Tone, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Tone a new career-high. Julian Crawford was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Eastside Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Lincoln was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 11-1 to Bishop Blanchet. The Lynx have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Lincoln saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dakota Blokker, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Eastside Catholic's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Eastside Catholic suffered a grim 15-2 defeat to Lincoln in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Eastside Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
