Volleyball Recap: Humboldt Cubs vs. Baxter Springs Lions
Humboldt lost against Baxter Springs last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cubs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Cubs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
While Humboldt had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20.
Their offense was headlined by Laney Hull and Lakyn Meadows, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Bailey Daniels and her nine assists.
Humboldt's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Baxter Springs, their record now sits at 17-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Humboldt will host Yates Center at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Baxter Springs, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against St. Paul. The Indians will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
