Baseball Recap: Mid Valley Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

Mid Valley waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Lakeland Chiefs 11-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Cooper Lukasavage spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Joey Romanosky, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorenzo Hernandez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.

Mid Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Mid Valley pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.3 runs this season. As for Lakeland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Mid Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Elk Lake on the 11th. As for Lakeland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-1 loss against Dunmore on the 11th.
