Football Recap: Nolan Catholic Falls to Grace Prep in First Game of Season

Nolan Catholic unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 34-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grace Prep Lions on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Nolan Catholic lost, don't look at Houston Hartung. Despite the final result, he threw for 138 yards and three TDs. The Vikings also got a significant boost from Joseph Irvin, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.

Noah Bonjour went supernova For Grace Prep., rushing for 162 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Those 162 rushing yards gave Bonjour a new career-high.

Nolan Catholic has already played their next match, a 10-0 victory against Bishop Dunne on the 5th. As for Grace Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 35-14 win against Covenant Christian on the 5th.
