Football Recap: Chaparral Firebirds vs. Mountain Pointe Pride
Chaparral fell victim to Mountain Pointe and their airtight defense on Monday. They were beaten by the Mountain Pointe Pride 39-0.
Mountain Pointe found their leader in underclassman Amaya Moreno, who threw for 434 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.1% of her passes, and also rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown. Those 434 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Moreno. Moriah Green did her part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 178 receiving yards.
Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Mountain Pointe, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Chaparral will stay at home for another week and welcome Desert Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain Pointe, they will challenge Notre Dame Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain Pointe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 32 points per game this season.
