Soccer Game Preview: Waco vs. Corsicana

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Waco challenge Corsicana at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Waco is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy just ended the team's 12-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Corsicana). They never let Ennis get on the board and left with a 6-0 win two weeks ago. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Ennis with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Miguel Herrera (2), Chris Velasquez (2), Giancarlo Zuniga, and Santiago Centeno.

Corsicana's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three games. As for Waco, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5-3.
