Baseball Recap: Newman Central Catholic's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

With a playoff win on the line, Newman Central Catholic rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 10-7 win over the Alleman Pioneers. The victory was some much needed relief for the Comets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Chase Decker and Daniel Kelly did most of the damage at the plate: Decker went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Kelly went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits Decker has posted since back in March. Liam Nicklaus was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Newman Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 24-7-1. As for Alleman, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 27-10 record.

As of now, neither Newman Central Catholic nor the Pioneers have any future games scheduled.
