Football Game Preview: Cresskill Cougars vs. Palisades Park/Leonia Tigers

The Cresskill Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Palisades Park/Leonia Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cresskill has given up an average of 27.5 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cresskill is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Waldwick/Midland Park on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cougars had to suffer through a 53-20 loss at the hands of the Warriors. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jake Lewin, who threw for 203 yards and a pair of TDs. A healthy portion of that aerial production (94 yards to be exact) went to Nicholas Giella, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, Palisades Park/Leonia didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Lodi on Friday, but they still walked away with a 25-20 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Palisades Park/Leonia's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Cresskill, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Cresskill against Palisades Park/Leonia in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 40-7 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
