Softball Recap: Northwestern Regional's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Northwestern Regional has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.8 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. Everything went their way against the Canton Warriors as they made off with a 24-12 win. The result was nothing new for the Highlanders, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory (which was Northwestern Regional's third in a row) raised their record to 8-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Canton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

The future could be bright for both Northwestern Regional and Canton: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Highlanders will try to hand Gilbert-Northwestern Regional their third-straight loss when the two meet at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Canton will look to extend Windsor Locks' eight-game losing streak when they meet at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
