Football Recap: Union City Comes Up Short at Home Against Pascack Valley

Union City unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Pascack Valley Panthers on Thursday, falling 42-19. While the Soaring Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 13-7 in the first quarter.

Xavien Rodriguez threw for 88 yards and one TD. Leonidas Williams was his top target, picking up 67 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Mario Medina rushed for 53 yards.

Union City will look to defend their home field on September 6 against St. Peter's Prep at 7:00 p.m. As for Pascack Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
