Volleyball Recap: Maricopa Takes a Loss

After flying high against Notre Dame Prep on Thursday, Maricopa came back down to earth. The Rams fell just short of the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts by a score of 2-1 on Friday.

Mica Mountain can attribute much of their success to Samuel Widmer, who had 18 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Widmer has posted over his last ten contests. Joshua Amico also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.

Maricopa's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Mica Mountain, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-3 record.

Maricopa has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Del Sol on the 28th. As for Mica Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Crismon on the 28th.
