Basketball Recap: Newton-Conover Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Newton-Conover can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 69-41 loss at the hands of the Mount Pleasant Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Red Devils have suffered since January 28th.

Newton-Conover lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mason Rice, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Eckard, who earned eight points and eight rebounds.

Newton-Conover's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Mount Pleasant, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Newton-Conover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Pleasant, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-65 loss against Lincoln Charter on the 28th.
