Volleyball Game Preview: Penn Kingsmen vs. Elkhart Lions

The Penn Kingsmen will square off against the Elkhart Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Penn's tournament run continued when they took on Silver Creek on Saturday. The Kingsmen fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 2-1.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Montana Swartz, who had 12 assists and 11 digs. Another player making a difference was Carson Petty, who had ten assists and nine digs.

Meanwhile, Elkhart had to endure a three-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Goshen on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-9, 25-19.

Elkhart's win came from a few key players Penn will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ava Polack, who had seven kills and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bayle Mitchell, who had six kills, three digs, three aces, and one block.

Penn's loss dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Elkhart, their win bumped their record up to 19-7.

Penn beat Elkhart 2-0 when the teams last played back in August. Do the Kingsmen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
