Basketball Game Preview: Northside Panthers vs. Yates Lions

Northside is 0-4 against Yates since January of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Northside Panthers challenge the Yates Lions at 1:45 p.m. Northside has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Northside came up short against Cesar E. Chavez and fell 62-55.

Meanwhile, Yates strolled past Fort Bend Hightower with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 86-69. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Yates' win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Northside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Northside was dealt a bruising 108-41 loss at the hands of Yates in their previous meeting back in February of 2016. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Northside was down 49-21.
