Basketball Game Preview: Dixie Flyers vs. Cedar Reds

Dixie is 2-8 against Cedar since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Flyers will be playing at home against the Reds at 7:00 p.m. Dixie will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Dixie is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Pine View, who was ranked 20th at the time (Dixie was ranked tenth). The Flyers came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 50-40 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Cedar ended up a good deal behind Pine View on Thursday and lost 54-40.

Loss or not, Cedar got some senior leadership from Brooke Vargas and Tylee Nielson. Vargas posted ten points, while Nielson had nine points and eight boards. Vargas is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Gabby Gomez was another key player, putting up seven points.

Cedar's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Dixie, their victory bumped their record up to 15-0.
