Baseball Recap: Parkland's Win on Sunday Extends Winning Streak to Six

It's playoff time, and Parkland had no trouble coming through when it counted. They beat the Nazareth Area Blue Eagles on Sunday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Steven Sepko looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Will Dobil, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Ben Weninger was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Parkland's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Nazareth Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-7.

Looking ahead, Parkland will be playing at home against Liberty at 6:05 p.m. on Wednesday. Nazareth Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
