Recap: St. Joseph Flyers vs. Saint Mary's Hall Barons
The St. Joseph Flyers pushed their score all the way to 87 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 94-87 to Saint Mary's Hall. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on January 2nd (56), St. Joseph still had to take the loss.
Saint Mary's Hall got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Roman Chase out in front who scored 30 points. Chase is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Huggins, who scored 25 points.
This is the second loss in a row for St. Joseph and nudges their season record down to 6-7. As for Saint Mary's Hall, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph won't have much time to rest: their next match is against San Antonio Christian at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th. San Antonio Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 20 matchups -- so hopefully St. Joseph likes a good challenge. As for Saint Mary's Hall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Anthony at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Anthony has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 409 points over their last six contests.
