Baseball Recap: Munroe Bobcats vs. Wewahitchka Gators
After flying high against Gadsden County last Tuesday, Munroe came back down to earth. The Bobcats came up short against the Wewahitchka Gators on Friday, falling 20-14. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (13), the Bobcats still had to take the loss.
Jon Daniel Gay and Brantlee Suber did some serious damage despite the final result: Gay scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Suber scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Ricardo Shaw, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Munroe's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Wewahitchka, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Gators beat Munroe by a score of 18-1 later that day.
