Softball Recap: Briar Woods Beats Broad Run for Their Third Straight Victory

Briar Woods entered their tilt with Broad Run on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Spartans a 1-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The result came thanks to Caprice Bohmer's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Briar Woods saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Posusney, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Briar Woods' victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Broad Run, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
