Baseball Recap: Christian Brothers Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Christian Brothers fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Vista del Lago on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (7-6), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Johnathan Otto made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Rowan Nichols also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Christian Brothers' defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.4 runs across that stretch. As for Vista del Lago, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christian Brothers will venture away from home to challenge Woodcreek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Christian Brothers has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Vista del Lago, they will face off against Inderkum at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vista del Lago's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Inderkum's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
