Baseball Recap: Beloit Memorial Takes a Loss

Beloit Memorial fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Wilmot on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 6-5. The Purple Knights haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Michael Nora and Owen West did some serious damage despite the final result: Nora went 3-for-4 with three RBI, while West scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Brenin Pearson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Beloit Memorial now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Wilmot, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Wilmot will face off against Westosha Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Beloit Memorial will be paying especially close attention to Wilmot's match: after Wilmot faces off against Westosha Central, they'll take on Beloit Memorial again at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
