Baseball Recap: Seaholm Has No Trouble Against Southfield Arts & Tech

Seaholm won the last time they faced Southfield Arts & Tech and things went their way on Monday too. The Maples blew past the Warriors 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Maples, who have now won 13 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Dylan Layer looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Nick Davis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Cobie Early was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Seaholm was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .387 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Seaholm's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Southfield Arts & Tech, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13.

Seaholm will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
