Softball Recap: Yerington Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Yerington suffered their closest defeat since March 1st on Saturday. They fell just short of the Oasis Academy Bighorns by a score of 11-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bighorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-7 last Tuesday.

Erika Landa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and eight unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Amaree Savage led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Conway, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5.

Yerington's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Oasis Academy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

While Yerington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
