While Elko's victory against Dayton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Dust Devils 7-6 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Dust Devils: they've now won six in a row.

Taylor Hunton made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vanessa Romero, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Adausha O'Berto was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Elko pushed their record up to 15-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Dayton, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-17.

Elko will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Fernley at 2:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Dayton, they will welcome Lowry at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
