Basketball Game Preview: Burlingame Bearcats vs. Bishop Seabury Academy Seahawks

The Burlingame Bearcats will venture away from home to face off against the Bishop Seabury Academy Seahawks at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Burlingame didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Chase County, but they still walked away with a 53-48 victory.

Meanwhile, Bishop Seabury Academy came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Cyclones by a score of 69-62.

Burlingame better keep an eye on Jace Smith. He was instrumental in Bishop Seabury Academy's win, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in January of 2024. Jace Hoffman was another key player, going 5 of 9 to rack up 15 points and six assists.

Bishop Seabury Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive matches.

Burlingame's record is now 12-1-2. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, their record now sits at 11-3.

Burlingame couldn't quite finish off Bishop Seabury Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 57-55. Can Burlingame avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
