Football Game Preview: Newaygo Lions vs. North Muskegon Norsemen

The Newaygo Lions will venture away from home to challenge the North Muskegon Norsemen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Newaygo is looking for their season's first win.

On Friday, Newaygo had to suffer through a 55-6 loss at the hands of Reed City. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 398th, while the Coyotes are ranked 95th).

Meanwhile, North Muskegon earned a 36-29 victory over Ravenna on Friday. The Norsemen haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Newaygo better keep an eye on Hunter Wilder. He was instrumental in North Muskegon's win, rushing for 95 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries, while also picking up 88 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 95 rushing yards gave Wilder a new career-high.

Newaygo's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for North Muskegon, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
