Softball Game Preview: Westfield Mustangs vs. Channelview Falcons

The Westfield Mustangs will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Channelview Falcons at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Westfield is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They lost 19-4 to Cypress Springs on Tuesday.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Channelview nor Heights made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Falcons won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 2-1.

Kaylee Ramey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Channelview secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Yessmani Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Westfield suffered a grim 20-3 defeat to Channelview when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
